How do I pick a therapist? ...
The essential ingredient for success of working with a therapist is the relationship and working alliance that you both create. I recommend you take some time exploring the options, researching and seeing what seems right. How long will it take? ...
The length of time can be agreed at assessment. It could be short 6 - 8 weeks, mid 8 - 26 weeks or open ended. The time frame is kept in mind and reviewed if necessary.
How much will it cost? ....
My standard fees are
£50 per individual therapy hour (50 minutes).
£50 per individual supervision hour & report writing
£75 per relationship hour. Each Additional 15 minutes @ £20
I have limited reduced rate spaces available for clients on low income.
How often will we meet? ...
We meet once a week on the same day and at an allocated time.
What happens if I can't come? ...
We can reschedule the appointment if that is possible. A full rate cancellation fee will be charged if less than 24 hours notice is given and half rate fee charged outside of that period. Planned holidays (up to 4 weeks p.a.) are excluded.
What about ending?..
It is best if this is set by you. We will discuss and agree the end of our work, ensuring that you have sufficient time to think about and process it.
What happens next? ...
The first step is for us to meet up so that you can assess if you think you will be comfortable and feel secure in our working together. The initial meeting is also a chance for us to practically assess your needs and if I don't think I have the relevant skills then I can offer you some guidance on where you might find these.
